What's it all about...

AMVETS Post 917 has been organizing, coordinating, and hosting this event since 2009.  A group of injured warriors their guests are escorted from Walter Reed National Military Medical Center (formerly Walter Reed Army Hospital) to Staten Island for a VIP weekend.  Soon we will be posting how we will honor our special guests in 2018.

FRIDAY MAY 18, 2018
  • Members of AMVETS POST 917 Arrive at Walter Reed and meet with honorees to prepare for next day departure
SATURDAY MAY 19, 2018
  • 7:45 AM - Honorees, escorts, bikers, escorted by Maryland Police leave Walter Reed.  Motorcade proceeds to Delaware Bridge.
  • Welcome lunch at Hampton Inn Suites
  • Buffet Dinner at Hampton Inn Suites Hosted by AMVETS Post 917
SUNDAY MAY 20, 2018
  • Breakfast at Hilton's Lorenzo Restaurant hosted by FOP 120
  • Tour of NY Harbor by USCG Station New York
  • Barbecue Lunch by USCG Station New York
  • Dinner at FDNY Rossville Station
MONDAY MAY 21, 2018
  • Breakfast at Hilton's Lorenzo Restaurant hosted by AMVETS Post 917
  • Farewell Lunch at Denny's
  • Return to Walter Reed
